HB 484: Create Workforce Investment Now (WIN) Child Care pilot program
The bill creates a workforce investment now (win) for child care pilot program to provide publicly funded child care to child care staff members. The program will operate for two fiscal years and will provide funding to counties to support the child care staff members working a minimum of twenty hours per week. The program will exclude a family's income from publicly funded child care eligibility if the child's caretaker parent is a child care staff member. A report on the pilot program's findings will be submitted to the governor and general assembly within six months of its conclusion. The bill appropriates $20 million in state funds for the pilot program and reappropriates any unexpended funds for the next fiscal year.
