HB 633: Enact the The Fee Transparency Act

Ohio · House · 136th General Assembly (2025–2026) · last verified April 1, 2026

What HB 633 does, verified April 1, 2026

The Fee Transparency Act requires suppliers to clearly display all mandatory fees and charges in a clear and conspicuous manner when advertising or offering a price for a good or service. This does not include taxes, delivery fees, or fees regulated by federal laws such as the Truth in Savings Act or Truth in Lending Act. The act does not apply to certain transactions, including broadband internet access, financial transactions, regulated air transportation, and certain motor vehicle transactions. Additionally, food delivery platforms are exempt from including fees in the menu price shown to the consumer. Violations of the act are considered unconscionable acts or practices under the state's consumer protection law.
