HB 687: Regards staffing in athletic facilities with AED, CPR training
The state of Ohio aims to improve emergency preparedness in athletic facilities. The department of health will develop a model emergency action plan for the use of automated external defibrillators in public and chartered nonpublic schools, youth sports organizations, athletic facilities, and sports and recreation locations. This plan must be practiced at least quarterly. Athletic facilities with automated external defibrillators must have at least one staff member trained in automated external defibrillation on duty while customers are present. Facilities without defibrillators must have a staff member trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation on duty. A procedure will be established to report violations of the requirements.
