HB 9: Replace interstate construction requirement with a traffic study
The bill aims to improve traffic congestion management in a specific area of Ohio. It repeals a section of the state's code related to constructing interstate interchanges and replaces it with a new requirement. The director of transportation, in consultation with the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency, must conduct a traffic congestion study to develop a strategic plan for managing traffic congestion in the area. The study must be completed by December 31, 2026, and submitted to key stakeholders, including the governor, lawmakers, and local municipal officials. The report should include solutions to mitigate and manage traffic congestion concerns found during the study.
