HCR 14: Urge inclusion of Peter Edward "Pete" Rose on Hall of Fame ballot
The resolution urges the Baseball Writers' Association of America and the National Baseball Hall of Fame to include Pete Rose on the next Hall of Fame ballot. Pete Rose is a legendary baseball player with numerous achievements, including being the all-time leader in hits, at bats, and games played. He is a 17-time Major League Baseball All-Star, winner of two Gold Gloves, and three World Series titles. Rose managed the Cincinnati Reds from 1984 to 1989 with a record of 426-388. However, he was permanently ineligible from Major League Baseball due to his involvement in gambling on baseball games. Rose was reinstated to Major League Baseball in 2025, making him eligible for Hall of Fame induction. The resolution asks the Baseball Writers' Association of America and the National Baseball Hall of Fame to consider Rose's qualifications for the Hall of Fame.
