A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring the Winton Woods High School girls basketball team as the 2025 Division II State Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Winton Woods 2
High School girls basketball team on winning the 2025 Division II 3
State Championship; and 4
WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the 5
Winton Woods High School girls basketball team have combined talent 6
and spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish 7
themselves as truly exceptional competitors. With admirable 8
dedication, the Warriors have worked diligently toward attaining 9
ultimate proficiency in basketball, and as a result, they defeated a 10
tough Anthony Wayne squad by the score of 70-55 to win this year’s 11
Division II State Championship, the first such title in program 12
history, and finished the season with an undefeated 27-0 record; and 13
WHEREAS, The Warriors’ achievements and leadership are a 14
justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on the 15
players, their families, their school, their community, and their 16
coach, Carlton Gray. In leading his team to victory, Coach Gray has 17
not only helped the athletes to develop their talents to the fullest 18
but also instilled in them a valuable sense of determination, 19
perseverance, and camaraderie; and 20
WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role 21
in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased 22
to pay tribute to these exemplary athletes and their outstanding coach 23
for a job well done. The maturity and experience the team members have 24

gained through their participation in sports will greatly aid them in 25
meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it 26
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 27
the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 28
commend the Winton Woods High School girls basketball team on its 29
tremendous season and salute the members and coach as some of Ohio’s 30
finest citizens; and be it further 31
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 32
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Winton Woods High 33
School girls basketball team. 34
