HR 12: Authorizing the Ohio YMCA Youth and Government to use the Ohio House Chambers to conduct its 2025 model legislature.
The Ohio YMCA Youth and Government is allowed to use the Ohio House chambers for its 2025 Model Legislature event. This event will take place on January 30-31, 2025, and March 20-21, 2025. The organization provides students with an opportunity to learn about government and its components. By using the facilities of the state legislative process, the students will gain a better understanding of how legislation is created and processed. The participants will be better prepared to become productive members of society and make informed decisions as adult citizens. The resolution also acknowledges the maturity and experience gained through the program, enabling students to make better decisions in their future lives.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th 4
General Assembly of Ohio have learned that the Ohio YMCA Youth and 5
Government has requested permission to use the Ohio House Chambers for 6
its model legislature event, January 30 – January 31, 2025 and March 7
20 – March 21, 2025; and 8
WHEREAS, A beneficial educational organization, the Ohio YMCA 9
Youth and Government provides students with the opportunity to better 10
appreciate and understand government and its components, and the 11
knowledge gained through this event will certainly be of value to all 12
participants throughout their lifetimes; and 13
WHEREAS, By utilizing the facilities that accommodate those 14
involved in the state legislative process, the Ohio YMCA Youth and 15
Government will offer students an accurate depiction of state 16
government and the manner in which legislation is created and 17
processed; and 18
WHEREAS, Through participation in the Ohio YMCA Youth and 19
Government, students will be better prepared to become productive 20
members of our complex and ever-changing society. The maturity and 21
experience the participants will gain through their involvement in 22
this program will not only enrich their total educational experience 23

but also enable them to make better-informed decisions as they assume 24
the responsibilities of adult citizenship; therefore be it 25
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 26
the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 27
permit the Ohio YMCA Youth and Government to use the Ohio House 28
Chambers for its 2025 model legislature event, January 30 – January 29
31, 2025 and March 20 – March 21, 2025, contingent upon the 30
availability of those facilities, and salute its participants as 31
conscientious young citizens; and be it further 32
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 33
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Ohio YMCA Youth 34
and Government. 35
