Honoring Sydney Stevenson as a 2025 Division II OATCC State Champion.

1. WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Sydney Stevenson on winning the 2025 Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches Division II Indoor State Championship in the 800-meter run; and
2. WHEREAS, This accomplishment is truly noteworthy, for Sydney Stevenson has clearly demonstrated her talent and perseverance, as well as her mental and physical fortitude as a runner. As this year's Division II Indoor State Champion in the 800-meter run, she has exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of the sports world, including courage, determination, and an innate sense of the principles of good sportsmanship; and
3. WHEREAS, In displaying such outstanding prowess as a member of the Dover High School track and field team, Sydney Stevenson has earned the appreciation of her fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, and the respect of even her most determined rivals. Competition in athletics has enabled her to learn much about dedication and self-discipline, and we take this opportunity to acknowledge her exemplary record of achievement; and
4. WHEREAS, Running is an event that requires exceptional stamina and natural ability, and Sydney Stevenson is to be commended for her commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining her athletic goals, she has consistently exhibited the skill and integrity that are the hallmarks of a true champion; therefore be it

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Sydney Stevenson as the 2025 Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches Division II Indoor State Champion in the 800-meter run and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Sydney Stevenson.
