Honoring the Lexington High School boys 4x800-meter relay team as the 2025 Division I State Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Lexington 2
High School boys 4x800-meter relay team on securing the 2025 Division 3
I State Championship; and 4

WHEREAS, The talented Lexington High School boys 4x800-meter relay 5
team is, indeed, to be heartily commended for decisively earning this 6
year's Division I State Championship with a time of 7:37.65. The 7
squad's performance reflects the outstanding collective effort by a 8
gifted group of athletes, and without exception, the team has devoted 9
countless hours to training and practice in order to ensure peak 10
conditioning. Clearly, this demanding regimen has paid handsome 11
dividends; and 12

WHEREAS, The members of the Lexington High School boys 4x800-meter 13
relay team, including Chance Basilone, Nathan Reed, Will Perkins, and 14
Latrell Hughes, have epitomized the power, poise, and precision that 15
befit true champions. Despite sometimes grueling pressure, they have 16
consistently maintained their composure and morale, exhibiting 17
strength, speed, stamina, and agility in every challenging encounter. 18
Time and again, they have risen to the occasion, amply demonstrating 19
their unflagging determination, and their impressive maturity and 20
finesse have earned them widespread respect, even among their most 21

WHEREAS, By weathering a rigorous schedule and prevailing over a 23
host of adversaries, the members of the Lexington High School boys 24
4x800-meter relay team have learned much about dedication, self- 25
discipline, leadership, and perseverance. Their first-place finish is 26

indomitable spirit has made their families, friends, and coaches 28

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 30
the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 31
applaud the Lexington High School boys 4x800-meter relay team on its 32
brilliant 2025 season and wish its members continued success in all of 33
their future endeavors; and be it further 34

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 35
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Lexington High 36
School boys 4x800-meter relay team. 37
