Honoring Urban Meyer on his induction into the 2025 College Football Hall of Fame.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to 2
Urban Meyer on being inducted into the 2025 College Football Hall of 3
Fame; and 4

WHEREAS, As a college football coach, Urban Meyer has demonstrated 5
remarkable integrity and dedication. A former graduate assistant at 6
The Ohio State University and assistant at Illinois State, Colorado 7
State, and Notre Dame universities, he served as the head coach at 8
Bowling Green University, the University of Utah, the University of 9
Florida, and The Ohio State University during his two-decade career, 10
compiling an impressive 187-32 record and guiding his teams to seven 11
conference and three national championships, and he and many of his 12
players have won a variety of honors and awards. He went on to coach 13
at the professional level with the Jacksonville Jaguars for one 14
season, and he is currently a host and analyst on FOX's Big Noon 15
Kickoff and a board member of several charitable organizations; and 16

WHEREAS, The expertise, guidance, and sound judgment of coaches 17
such as Urban Meyer are critical to the ultimate success of any 18
athletic endeavor. Due largely to his tireless efforts, his players 19
have emerged as winners, both in and out of athletic competition, and 20
he has gained the genuine appreciation and esteem of many for his 21
fantastic work; and 22

WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role 23
in the development of role models for our young people, we are 24
extremely pleased to pay tribute to Urban Meyer for a job well done. 25
His outstanding rapport with his players, as well as with his fellow 26
coaches, has been a vital factor in his accomplishments, and he is 27
certainly deserving of high praise; therefore be it28

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 29
the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 30
congratulate Urban Meyer on this tremendous national award and extend 31
best wishes for the future; and be it further 32

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 33
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Urban Meyer. 34
