HR 227: Urge US DOJ to expedite connection of NCIC and NamUs
The resolution urges the US Department of Justice to expedite work to connect the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (Namus) databases. This connection is required by law to allow for the automatic transfer of missing persons case information between the systems. The resolution was prompted by an examination of missing persons investigations in Ohio, which found that the automatic transfer of cases between NCIC and Namus is not currently occurring. The resolution calls for the US Department of Justice to take immediate action to connect the two databases as required by law.
