A RESOLUTION
Honoring Rod Owens as a 2025 Division II State Champion in wrestling.
1WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Rod Owens on
2securing the 2025 Division II State Wrestling Championship title in
3the 175-pound weight class; and
5Rod Owens' accomplishments are truly noteworthy, for he
6has clearly demonstrated his talent and perseverance, as well as his
7mental and physical fortitude as a wrestler. As a junior member of the
8Archbishop Alter High School wrestling team, he has exemplified all of
9the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of
10the sports world, including courage, integrity, and an innate sense of
11the principles of good sportsmanship, and as a result, he won first
12place in the 175-pound weight class at this year's Division II State
14meet; and
14By developing such remarkable prowess in wrestling, Rod
15Owens has earned the appreciation of his fellow athletes, the devotion
16of countless fans, and the respect of even his most determined rivals.
17Indeed, his outstanding record of achievement is sure to inspire
19future generations of Knights; and
19Wrestling is a sport which requires exceptional stamina
20and natural ability, and Rod Owens is to be commended for his
21commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining his athletic
22goals, he has certainly distinguished himself as a true champion;
24therefore be it
24RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of
25the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,
26recognize Rod Owens on his state wrestling championship and honor him as a fine Ohioan; and be it further
27RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit
28a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Rod Owens.
