Honoring The Ohio State University dance team as the 2025 UCA & UDA College National Division IA Jazz Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to 2
The Ohio State University dance team on securing the 2025 Universal 3
Cheerleading Association & Universal Dance Association College 4
National Championship in the Division IA jazz category; and 5
WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of The 6
Ohio State University dance team have combined talent and spirit with 7
the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish themselves as 8
truly exceptional competitors. With admirable dedication, the Buckeyes 9
have worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in their 10
sport, and as a result, they won this year’s Universal Cheerleading 11
Association & Universal Dance Association National Championship in the 12
Division IA jazz category, their second consecutive title and sixth 13
such crown since 2018, and placed second in the pom category; and 14
WHEREAS, The Buckeyes’ achievements and leadership are a direct 15
reflection of the prowess of the dancers and their coach, Melissa 16
McGhee. In leading her team to victory, Coach McGhee has not only 17
helped the athletes to develop their talents to the fullest but also 18
instilled in them a valuable sense of determination, perseverance, and 19
camaraderie; and 20
WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role 21
in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased 22
to pay tribute to these exemplary athletes and their outstanding coach 23

gained through their participation in sports will greatly aid them in 25
meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it 26
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 27
the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 28
congratulate The Ohio State University dance team on its tremendous 29
season and salute the members and coach as fine citizens; and be it 30

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 32
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to The Ohio State 33
University dance team. 34
