A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring the Upper Arlington High School girls swimming and diving team on earning the 2025 Division I State Championship.

WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to recognize the Upper Arlington 2
High School girls swimming and diving team as the 2025 Division I 3
State Champion; and 4
WHEREAS, The members of the Upper Arlington High School girls 5
swimming and diving team are exemplary athletes, and they have shown 6
themselves to be truly exceptional competitors. The Golden Bears 7
compiled an impressive 263.5 points to win this year’s Division I 8
State Championship, their second consecutive and fourteenth overall 9
state crown. The unwavering commitment of the swimmers, divers, and 10
coaches has earned them the esteem of many, and they are certainly 11
deserving of high praise; and 12
WHEREAS, The coaching staff, which includes girls swimming coach, 13
John Sands, and girls diving coach, Ryan Wilson, has demonstrated 14
remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Upper 15
Arlington High School girls swimming and diving team to victory, and 16
their skill is reflected in the squad’s outstanding accomplishments. 17
Due largely to their tireless efforts, the coaches have distinguished 18
themselves in competition, and they have received respect and 19
admiration from all who know them; and 20
WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future 21
leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and 22
the rewards of individual and group effort, participation in athletics 23
has become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of 24

gained discipline and perseverance that will help them in all aspects 26
of their lives; therefore be it 27
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 28
the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay 29
tribute to the Upper Arlington High School girls swimming and diving 30
team as the 2025 Division I State Champion and honor all those who 31
contributed to the success of this fine squad; and be it further 32
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 33
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Upper Arlington 34
High School girls swimming and diving team. 35
