A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring Carrie Furbee on winning the 2025 Division II State Championship in the 100-yard butterfly.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Carrie Furbee as 2
the 2025 Division II State Champion in the 100-yard butterfly; and 3
WHEREAS, A senior at Grandview Heights High School, Carrie Furbee 4
has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of 5
good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young 6
athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward 7
attaining ultimate proficiency in swimming, and as a result, she won 8
this year’s Division II State Championship in the 100-yard butterfly 9
with a state-record time of 53.36 seconds; and 10
WHEREAS, Carrie Furbee’s accomplishments and leadership, both in 11
and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine 12
reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her 13
coaches, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to 14
excellence has earned her the appreciation and esteem of many, and she 15
is certainly worthy of acknowledgement; and 16
WHEREAS, With sports contributing to the development of countless 17
youth, we are happy to pay tribute to such a fine athlete as Carrie 18
Furbee. Through her outstanding efforts, she has inspired numerous 19
people to excel in various areas of endeavor, and she has set an 20
example worthy of emulation; therefore be it 21
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 22
the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 23
recognize Carrie Furbee on her fantastic season and look with optimism 24
to the years to come; and be it further 25
