Honoring the Andrews Osborne Academy boys soccer team as the 2023 Division III State Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Andrews 2
Osborne Academy boys soccer team on winning the 2023 Division III 3
State Championship; and 4
WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the 5
Andrews Osborne Academy boys soccer team have combined talent and 6
spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish 7
themselves as truly exceptional competitors. With admirable 8
dedication, the Phoenix have worked diligently toward attaining 9
ultimate proficiency in soccer, and as a result, they defeated a tough 10
Worthington Christian team by the score of 2-1 to win the 2023 11
Division III State Championship, their first such title in the 12
program’s short three-year history, and finished the season with an 13
impressive 18-0-1 record; and 14
WHEREAS, The Phoenix’s achievements and leadership are a 15
justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on the 16
players, their families, their school, their community, and their 17
coach, Drago Dumbovic. In leading his team to victory, Coach Dumbovic 18
has not only helped the athletes to develop their talents to the 19
fullest but also instilled in them a valuable sense of determination, 20
perseverance, and camaraderie; and 21
WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role 22
in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased 23
to pay tribute to these exemplary athletes and their outstanding coach 24
for a job well done. The maturity and experience the team members have 25
gained through their participation in sports will greatly aid them in 26

meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it 27
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 28
the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 29
commend the Andrews Osborne Academy boys soccer team on its tremendous 30
season and salute the members and coach as some of Ohio’s finest 31
citizens; and be it further 32
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 33
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Andrews Osborne 34
Academy boys soccer team. 35
