A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring Laney Oliver as a 2025 OHSAA State Wrestling Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Laney Oliver on 2
securing the 2025 Girls Wrestling State Championship in the 190-pound 3
weight class; and 4
WHEREAS, A senior at Findlay High School, Laney Oliver has 5
combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good 6
sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional athlete. A 7
strong competitor, she has worked diligently toward attaining ultimate 8
proficiency in her weight class, and as a result, she overcame a 9
strong Lakewood opponent to win the state title and finish the season 10
with a remarkable 34-0 record; and 11
WHEREAS, Throughout intense training and preparation, Laney Oliver 12
has consistently demonstrated the talent, integrity, and motivation 13
that are the hallmarks of a true champion. Her unwavering commitment 14
to excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she 15
is certainly deserving of high praise; and 16
WHEREAS, Laney Oliver’s accomplishments and leadership, both in 17
and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and an 18
outstanding reflection not only on her but also on her family, her 19
teammates, her coaches, her school, and her community. Indeed, the 20
same maturity and experience she has gained through her participation 21
in wrestling will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the 22
future; therefore be it 23
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 24
the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 25
