A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring Alex Taylor on winning a 2025 Division I State Wrestling Championship.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to applaud Alex Taylor as the 2
2025 Division I State Wrestling Champion in the 285-pound weight 3
class; and 4
WHEREAS, This accomplishment is truly noteworthy, for Alex Taylor 5
has clearly demonstrated his talent and perseverance, as well as his 6
mental and physical fortitude. As this year’s Division I State 7
Champion in the 285-pound weight class, he holds the special 8
distinction of being the first boys champion in program history, and 9
in also winning the Central District, sectional, and Licking County 10
League heavyweight championships, he has exemplified all of the 11
characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of the 12
sports world, including courage, determination, and an innate sense of 13
the principles of good sportsmanship; and 14
WHEREAS, In displaying such outstanding prowess as a member of the 15
Mount Vernon High School wrestling team, Alex Taylor has earned the 16
appreciation of his fellow athletes, the devotion of countless fans, 17
and the respect of even his most determined rivals. Competition in 18
athletics has enabled him to learn much about dedication and self- 19
discipline, and we take this opportunity to acknowledge his exemplary 20
record of achievement; and 21
WHEREAS, Wrestling is a sport that requires exceptional strength, 22
stamina, and natural ability, and Alex Taylor is to be commended for 23
his commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining his athletic 24
goals, he has consistently exhibited the skill and integrity that are 25
the hallmarks of a true champion; therefore be it 26

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 27
the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 28
congratulate Alex Taylor on his personal success and salute him as one 29
of Ohio’s finest young citizens; and be it further 30
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 31
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Alex Taylor. 32
