A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring WHBC Radio on its Centennial.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate WHBC Radio on the 2
auspicious occasion of its One Hundredth Anniversary; and 3
WHEREAS, Recognition of this prestigious milestone is, indeed, a 4
fitting tribute to WHBC Radio, for since its establishment, it has 5
provided outstanding broadcast services to the Canton area and has 6
become well-known for its quality programming. Going on the air on 7
March 9, 1925, the station has operated on various frequencies, today 8
finding its home at 1480 AM, and it has always delighted and informed 9
its listeners; and 10
WHEREAS, Throughout the past century, WHBC Radio has provided 11
comprehensive coverage of current events at the local, state, 12
national, and international levels, while maintaining the flexibility 13
necessary to meet the changing needs and interests of area citizens. 14
Entertaining, educational, and informative, this exemplary station has 15
earned the loyalty of a large and diverse audience and has certainly 16
distinguished itself as one of Ohio’s finest radio stations; and 17
WHEREAS, The success of any radio station depends largely on the 18
dedication and hard work of its staff. The expertise and commitment of 19
WHBC Radio’s employees and the astute and insightful leadership of its 20
managers have earned the station the respect and appreciation of the 21
entire community, and we applaud all those associated with WHBC for 22
their integrity, skill, and unwavering devotion to excellence; 23
therefore be it 24
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 25
the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 26
H. R. No. 71 As Adopted by the House
commend WHBC Radio on its One Hundredth Anniversary and offer best 27
wishes for the future; and be it further 28
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 29
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to WHBC Radio. 30
