Honoring the Pickerington High School Central girls basketball team on winning the 2025 Division I State Championship.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 136th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend the Pickerington High 2
School Central girls basketball team as the 2025 Division I State 3
Champion; and 4
WHEREAS, The Pickerington High School Central girls basketball 5
team has proven to be a talented and superbly conditioned squad and 6
has gained the respect of fans and opponents alike for the spirited 7
and highly motivated performance of its members. Throughout the 8
season, the athletes worked diligently to improve their skills on the 9
court, and as a result, the Tigers accomplished their goals, bringing 10
home this year’s state championship, their first state crown since 11
2018 and eighth such title overall; and 12
WHEREAS, Known as a driven and determined team, the Pickerington 13
Central Tigers have developed into a remarkably efficient group of 14
players whose skill is equaled only by their exemplary display of 15
teamwork. They are a credit not only to their families and their 16
school but also to the superb leadership of their coach, Johnathan 17
Hedgepeth; and 18
WHEREAS, The road to victory is a difficult one, requiring 19
ability, endurance, and a positive attitude on the part of athletes 20
and coaches alike. The members of the Pickerington High School Central 21
girls basketball team have exemplified the characteristics that are 22
essential for success both in and out of competition, including 23
courage, discipline, integrity, and good sportsmanship, and their 24

efforts have earned them the admiration of all those who have 25
witnessed these outstanding athletes in action; therefore be it 26
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 27
the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 28
salute the Pickerington High School Central girls basketball team on 29
its 2025 Division I State Championship and offer best wishes for the 30
years to come; and be it further 31
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 32
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Pickerington High 33
School Central girls basketball team. 34
