SB 178: Form Missing Women-Black, Indigenous, People of Color task force
<p> This legislation creates a new Task Force on Missing Women and Girls who are Black, Indigenous, or People of Color within the state of Ohio. The primary purpose of this task force is to address the lack of care and concern for this specific demographic and to ensure that first responders are culturally competent. The task force is charged with developing policy changes, advancing community knowledge on the severity of the issue, and educating communities on prevention strategies and social media protocols. Additionally, the group will develop a strategy to collect relevant statistics and data, identify major traffic hubs and resource extraction sites linked to abduction, and create a statewide awareness campaign.
