SB 225: Expand the Address Confidentiality Program
The address confidentiality program is being expanded to provide greater protection for victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, and other serious crimes. To participate, individuals must apply with the assistance of an application assistant, who is trained to help with the application process. The application must include a notarized statement detailing the reason for the application, such as fearing for their safety or the safety of a household member. The state will verify the application and issue a unique identification number and an address confidentiality program authorization card. This card will be valid for four years and allows the individual to receive mail and have service of process through the state.
