Ohio · Senate · 136th General Assembly (2025–2026) · last verified September 25, 2026

What SB 319 does, verified September 25, 2026

The bill expands the duties of county departments of job and family services. It authorizes these departments to investigate reports of exploitation of adults who live in long-term care facilities or residential care facilities, but do not reside in independent living arrangements. If an investigation determines that the adult needs protective services, the department will provide these services. This authority is in addition to the duties of the long-term care ombudsman program.
