SB 356: Temporarily increase the amount of the homestead exemptions

Ohio · Senate · 136th General Assembly (2025–2026) · last verified September 25, 2026

What SB 356 does, verified September 25, 2026

The bill temporarily increases the amount of the homestead exemptions for property owners in Ohio. For tax year 2025, it doubles the reduction in taxes for properties on the real property tax list, and for tax year 2026, it doubles the reduction in taxes for properties on the manufactured home tax list. The increased reduction is applied entirely against the second-half tax bill for the respective tax year, providing immediate tax relief to Ohio's most vulnerable taxpayers.
