Ohio · Senate · 136th General Assembly (2025–2026) · last verified September 24, 2026

What SB 41 does, verified September 24, 2026

The bill designates January 22 as the "Day of Tears" to remember and mourn the innocent, unborn children who have lost their lives due to abortion. This day is meant to observe the anniversary of the erroneous ruling by the US Supreme Court in 1973 that declared abortion a right secured by the US Constitution. Residents of the state are encouraged to lower their flags to half-staff on this day.
