SCR 6: Urge Congress to make daylight saving time the permanent
The bill aims to make daylight saving time the permanent standard time. This change was first adopted during World War I to support war industries and was also observed during World War II and the 1973 oil crisis. The benefits of permanent daylight saving time include additional evening daylight, increased outdoor playtime for children and youth, expanded economic opportunities, energy savings, improved traffic safety, and crime reduction. The bill urges Congress to enact legislation to make daylight saving time permanent nationwide.
