Honoring the Purcell Marian High School girls basketball team on winning the 2025 Division III State Championship.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to commend the Purcell Marian High School girls 2
basketball team as the 2025 Division III State Champion; and 3
WHEREAS, All those who comprise the Purcell Marian High School 4
girls basketball team have proven themselves to be assets to the 5
superbly conditioned squad and have gained the respect of fans and 6
opponents alike for their spirited and highly motivated performance. 7
Throughout the season, the athletes worked tirelessly to improve their 8
skills on the court, and as a result, the Cavaliers accomplished their 9
goals, bringing home this year’s state championship and becoming just 10
the fourth team in OHSAA history to win four consecutive crowns; and 11
WHEREAS, Known for its drive and determination, the Purcell Marian 12
High School girls basketball team has developed into a remarkably 13
efficient group of athletes whose skill is equaled only by an 14
exemplary display of teamwork. The Cavaliers are a credit not only to 15
the support of the school community but also to the estimable 16
leadership of their coach, Jamar Mosley; and 17
WHEREAS, The road to victory is a difficult one, requiring 18
ability, endurance, and a positive attitude on the part of players and 19
coaches alike. The members of the Purcell Marian High School girls 20
basketball team have exemplified all of the characteristics that are 21
essential for success both in and out of competition, including 22
courage, discipline, integrity, and good sportsmanship, and their 23
efforts have earned them the admiration of all those who have 24

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 26
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, salute the Purcell 27
Marian High School girls basketball team on its 2025 Division III 28
State Championship and extend best wishes for the years to come; and 29
be it further 30
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 31
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Purcell Marian High 32
School girls basketball team. 33
