SR 106: Honoring Reagan Knapp on winning a 2025 State Wrestling Championship title.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to commend Reagan Knapp as the 2025 State Wrestling Champion in the 145-pound weight class; and

A tenacious competitor and a standout member of the Pickerington High School North girls wrestling team, Reagan Knapp can always be counted on to shine both on and off the mat, and her outstanding ability and spirited drive, as well as her quickness and tenacity, have distinguished her as a superior athlete. At this year's state meet, she pinned her opponent from Greeneview High School to secure the title in the 145-pound weight class, and she has gained the admiration and respect of all those who have witnessed her in action; and

Few sports embody the spirit of individual accomplishment more than wrestling. Athletes such as Reagan Knapp exemplify the qualities necessary for excellence in any sport, including discipline, agility, conditioning, and focus. Indeed, throughout long hours of practice and competition, she has consistently demonstrated the talent and motivation that are the hallmarks of a true champion; and

In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of individual effort, high school athletic competition has become a valuable tool. Through her participation in sports, Reagan Knapp has learned lessons of perseverance, hard work, and fair and honest competition that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to her throughout her lifetime; therefore be it

1. RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to Reagan Knapp on her outstanding performance in state wrestling competition and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further
2. RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Reagan Knapp.
