SR 15: Relative to the election of Jane M. Timken to fill the vacancy in the membership of the Senate for the 29th Senatorial District.

A R E S O L U T I O N
Relative to the election of Jane M. Timken to fill 1
the vacancy in the membership of the Senate for 2
the 29th Senatorial District. 3
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF OHIO:
WHEREAS, Section 11 of Article II of the Ohio Constitution, 4
provides for the filling of a vacancy in the Senate by election by the 5
members of the Senate who are affiliated with the same political party 6
as the person last elected to the seat which has become vacant; and 7
WHEREAS, Kirk Schuring of the 29th Senatorial District passed away 8
in November, 2024, thus creating a vacancy in the Senate; now 9
therefore be it 10
RESOLVED, By the members of the Senate who are affiliated with the 11
Republican party, that Jane M. Timken (Republican), having the 12
qualifications set forth in the Ohio Constitution and the laws of Ohio 13
to be a member of the Senate from the 29th Senatorial District, is 14
hereby elected, pursuant to Section 11 of Article II of the Ohio 15
Constitution, as a member of the Senate from the 29th Senatorial 16
District, to fill the vacancy; and be it further 17
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be spread upon the 18
journal of the Senate together with the yeas and nays of the members 19
of the Senate affiliated with the Republican party voting on the 20
Resolution, and that the Clerk of the Senate shall certify the 21
Resolution and the vote on its adoption to the Secretary of State. 22
