A RESOLUTION
Honoring Jerriel Missionary Baptist Church on its Centennial.
1 WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 2 of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Jerriel 3 Missionary Baptist Church on the memorable occasion of its One 4 Hundredth Anniversary; and
5 WHEREAS, In 1925, Jerriel Missionary Baptist Church was founded 6 and organized by a group of people who appointed the Reverend Arthur 7 Woods as pastor, and for the past one hundred years, this dynamic 8 house of worship has served as a tremendous source of spiritual 9 inspiration for its congregation. Indeed, it has encouraged countless 10 people to pursue lives of service, learning, and fellowship; and
11 WHEREAS, This auspicious celebration offers the members of Jerriel 12 Missionary Baptist Church the opportunity to share their memories and 13 to reflect on the benefits of life in their close-knit community. 14 Under the guidance of the Reverend Quentin D. Monroe, as well as his 15 predecessors, the parishioners have expanded on the best traditions of 16 the past to ensure a benevolent and prosperous future, and they can be 17 proud of the remarkable examples they have set through their values 18 and principles; and
19 WHEREAS, The members of Jerriel Missionary Baptist Church have 20 stood strong in the face of numerous challenges, and they have had a 21 positive impact on the lives of many local residents. Indeed, this 22 important milestone represents their dedication and commitment to keep 23 the faith alive in the Cincinnati community, and all those associated 24 with this beacon of society are deserving of high praise; therefore be 25 it
26 RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 27 Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Jerriel 28 Missionary Baptist Church on its One Hundredth Anniversary and offer 29 best wishes as it upholds its rich legacy of faith and fellowship in 30 the years to come; and be it further
31 RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 32 authenticated copy of this Resolution to Jerriel Missionary Baptist 33 Church.
