Honoring Urban Meyer on being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Urban Meyer on being selected as a 2
2025 inductee into the College Football Hall of Fame in South Bend, 3
Indiana; and 4
WHEREAS, Urban Meyer is, indeed, deserving of this prestigious 5
honor, which has been accorded to him in recognition of his numerous 6
athletic and coaching accomplishments. Beginning his coaching career 7
as a graduate assistant under Earle Bruce in 1986, he went on to lead 8
Bowling Green University, the University of Utah, and the University 9
of Florida to distinguished seasons before returning to The Ohio State 10
University, finishing his career with an excellent 187-32 record and 11
three national championships; and 12
WHEREAS, Urban Meyer’s exceptional record of personal and 13
professional achievement stands as a hallmark worthy of emulation, and 14
he has inspired countless individuals to excel in numerous areas of 15
endeavor. As a coach, he has demonstrated remarkable energy, 16
enthusiasm, and dedication in leading his teams to victory, and in so 17
doing, he not only has encouraged his players to develop their talents 18
to the fullest but also instilled in each a valuable sense of 19

determination, perseverance, camaraderie, and school spirit; and 20
WHEREAS, The respect and admiration which Urban Meyer has earned 21
throughout his lifetime are evident in his induction into the College 22
Football Hall of Fame. Truly, his achievements and leadership are a 23
justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection not only on 24
him but also on his family, his players, and his community; therefore 25
be it 26
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 27
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Urban Meyer on 28
being inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame and salute him 29
as one of Ohio’s finest citizens; and be it further 30
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 31
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Urban Meyer. 32
