Honoring the Lexington High School boys cross country team on winning the 2025 Division II State Championship.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1 of Ohio are pleased to recognize the Lexington High School boys cross 2 country team as the 2025 Division II State Champion; and
WHEREAS, The members of the Lexington High School boys cross 4 country team are exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves to 5 be truly remarkable competitors. During the season, the Minutemen 6 compiled 110 points to win the 2025 Division II State Championship. 7 The unwavering commitment of the runners and coaches has earned them 8 the esteem of many, and they are certainly deserving of high praise; 9 and
WHEREAS, Coaches Tricia Volz and Denise Benson have demonstrated 11 remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Lexington 12 High School boys cross country team to victory, and their skill is 13 reflected in the squad's outstanding accomplishments. Due largely to 14 their tireless efforts, the members have distinguished themselves on 15 the course, and they have received respect and admiration from all who 16 know them; and
WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future 18 leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and 19 the rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has 20 become a valuable tool.
