A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring Fulton County on its One Hundred Seventyfifth Anniversary.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to Fulton County on the auspicious 2
occasion of its One Hundred Seventy-fifth Anniversary; and 3
WHEREAS, This is a momentous event, and it provides an ideal time 4
to acknowledge the exceptional achievements of Fulton County. This 5
exemplary group of communities can be proud of its history, which 6
reflects impressive development over multiple generations, and it has 7
gained a well-deserved reputation as one of Ohio’s finest areas; and 8
WHEREAS, Fulton County was established on April 1, 1850, and named 9
in honor of Robert Fulton, the inventor of the steamboat, and in the 10
decades since, its generous and civic-minded population has thrived. 11
Indeed, those who currently live and work in the area can take great 12
pride in their rich heritage, for their noteworthy initiative and 13
vision have had a profound impact. We applaud the county’s residents 14
for their commitment to the well-being of their respective 15
communities, and they have set an example of concerned and responsible 16
citizenship worthy of emulation; and 17
WHEREAS, Every state’s survival and stability depends upon vibrant 18
and durable communities, and one hundred seventy-five years after 19
Fulton County was founded, it continues to radiate a vitality, 20
optimism, and perpetual charm all its own. This is certainly a place 21
of many engaging qualities, and its schools, businesses, and civic 22
organizations have embodied and upheld the values that are fundamental 23
to Ohio’s success; therefore be it 24
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 25

on the commemoration of its One Hundred Seventy-fifth Anniversary and 27
offer our best wishes for a prosperous future; and be it further 28
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 29
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Fulton County. 30
