Honoring the Avon High School football team as the 2025 Division II State Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1 of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Avon High School football team 2 on winning the 2025 Division II State Championship; and3
WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the 4 Avon High School football team have combined talent and spirit with 5 the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish themselves as 6 truly exceptional competitors. With admirable dedication, the Eagles 7 have worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in 8 football, and as a result, they defeated a tough Anderson team by the 9 score of 37-20 to win this year's Division II State Championship, 10 their second consecutive such title, and finished the season with an 11 impressive 14-1 record; and12
WHEREAS, The Eagles' achievements and leadership are a justifiable 13 source of pride and an excellent reflection on the players, their 14 families, their school, their community, and their head coach, Mike 15 Elder. In leading their team to victory, Coach Elder and his 16 assistants have not only helped the athletes to develop their talents 17 to the fullest but also instilled in them a valuable sense of 18 determination, perseverance, and camaraderie; and19
WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role 20 in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased 21 to pay tribute to these exemplary athletes and their outstanding 22 coaches for a job well done.
