Honoring The Ohio State University dance team on winning a 2025 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National title.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to The Ohio State 2
University dance team on earning first place in the Division IA jazz 3
category at the 2025 Universal Cheerleaders Association & Universal 4
Dance Association College Cheerleading and Dance Team National 5
Championship; and 6
WHEREAS, Establishing a reputation for its skill and tenacity, The 7
Ohio State University dance team is an impressive group of competitors 8
whose talents are unmatched. At this year’s UCA & UDA College 9
Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship, the Buckeyes won 10
their second consecutive crown in the Division IA jazz category, as 11
well as earned second-place honors in the pom category, and these 12
achievements will be celebrated for many years to come; and 13
WHEREAS, The members of The Ohio State University dance team rose 14
to the occasion and proved themselves to be capable of meeting and 15
overcoming all challenges they faced. Truly, these outstanding 16
athletes can be proud of their hard-won and well-deserved 17
accomplishments; and 18
WHEREAS, By remaining faithful to the highest standards of 19
sportsmanship and teamwork, the members of The Ohio State University 20
dance team primed themselves under the guidance of Coach Melissa 21
McGhee to reach their full potential. Indeed, the Buckeyes have 22
demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in all of 23
their endeavors; therefore be it 24

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 25
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, heartily recognize The 26
Ohio State University dance team on its national title and praise the 27
strength of this squad and its participating athletes; and be it 28

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 30
authenticated copy of this Resolution to The Ohio State University 31
dance team. 32
