Honoring Mason Francis as a two-time 2025 Division II State Swimming Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to honor Mason Francis on winning first place in 2
the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events at the 2025 Division II State 3
Swim Meet; and 4
WHEREAS, Mason Francis’ outstanding ability and spirited drive, as 5
well as his quickness and tenacity, have distinguished him as a 6
superior athlete and an exemplary senior member of the Warren High 7
School swim team. At this year’s Division II State Swim Meet, he 8
placed first in the 50-yard freestyle event with a time of 19.71 and 9
the 100-yard freestyle event with a record-setting time of 43.55, and 10
he was named the MVP by the Ohio High School Swim Coaches Association. 11
Without a doubt, he has gained the respect and admiration of all those 12
who have witnessed him in action; and 13
WHEREAS, Few sports embody the spirit of individual accomplishment 14
more than swimming. Athletes such as Mason Francis exemplify the 15
qualities necessary for excellence in any sport, including discipline, 16
agility, conditioning, and focus. Indeed, throughout long hours of 17
practice and competition, he has consistently demonstrated the talent 18
and motivation that are the hallmarks of a true champion; and 19
WHEREAS, In an educational system that seeks to teach the future 20
leaders of our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and 21
the rewards of individual effort, athletic competition has become a 22
valuable educational tool. Through his participation in sports, Mason 23
Francis has learned lessons of perseverance, hard work, and fair and 24
honest competition that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to him 25
throughout his lifetime; therefore be it 26

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 27
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Mason 28
Francis on his outstanding performance in state competition and extend 29
best wishes for continued success; and be it further 30
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 31
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Mason Francis. 32
