Honoring the Upper Arlington High School girls swim team as the 2025 Division I State Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Upper Arlington High School 2
girls swim team on winning the 2025 Division I State Championship; and 3
WHEREAS, The talented Upper Arlington High School girls swim team 4
is, indeed, to be heartily commended for decisively earning this 5
year’s Division I State Championship, its second straight state title. 6
The squad’s performance, which included amassing 263.5 points, 7
reflects the outstanding collective effort by a gifted group of 8
athletes, and without exception, the team has devoted countless hours 9
to training and practice in order to ensure peak conditioning. 10
Clearly, this demanding regimen has paid handsome dividends; and 11
WHEREAS, The members of the Upper Arlington High School girls swim 12
team have epitomized the power, poise, and precision that befit true 13
champions. Despite sometimes grueling pressure, they have consistently 14
maintained their composure and morale, exhibiting strength, speed, 15
stamina, and agility in every challenging encounter. Time and again, 16
they have risen to the occasion, amply demonstrating their unflagging 17
determination, and their impressive maturity and finesse have earned 18
them widespread respect, even among their most formidable rivals; and 19
WHEREAS, By weathering a rigorous schedule and prevailing over a 20
host of adversaries, the members of the Upper Arlington High School 21
girls swim team have learned much about dedication, self-discipline, 22
leadership, and perseverance. Their first-place finish is a measure of 23
their stalwart commitment to the sport, and their indomitable spirit 24
has made their families, friends, and coach, John Sands, incredibly 25

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 27
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the Upper 28
Arlington High School girls swim team on its brilliant 2024-25 season 29
and wish its members continued success in all of their future 30
endeavors; and be it further 31
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 32
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Upper Arlington High 33
School girls swim team. 34
