Honoring Carrie Furbee on securing a 2025 Division II State Swimming Championship.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Carrie Furbee on 2
placing first in the 100-yard butterfly at the 2025 Division II State 3
Swimming and Diving Championships; and 4
WHEREAS, This achievement is truly noteworthy, for Carrie Furbee 5
has clearly demonstrated her talent and perseverance, as well as her 6
mental and physical fortitude as a swimmer. She was the winner of the 7
100-yard butterfly at this year’s Division II State meet with a time 8
of 53.36, setting a state record in the event and amassing her fifth 9
state crown, and she has exhibited a wealth of attributes that have 10
contributed to her success; and 11
WHEREAS, In displaying exceptional prowess as a senior member of 12
the Grandview Heights High School swimming and diving team, Carrie 13
Furbee has set an example worthy of emulation. Time and again, she has 14
risen to the occasion, maintaining the morale, composure, and tenacity 15
that have earned her many admirers; and 16
WHEREAS, Swimming is a sport that requires exceptional stamina and 17
natural ability, and Carrie Furbee is to be commended for her 18
commitment to this demanding activity. Clearly, her success has made 19
her family and friends very proud; therefore be it 20
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 21
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to Carrie 22
Furbee as the 2025 Division II State Champion in the 100-yard 23
butterfly and applaud her as an outstanding Ohioan; and be it further 24
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 25
