Honoring Hayden Hollingsworth on securing a 2025 Division I State Swim Championship title.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Hayden 2
Hollingsworth on placing first in the 50-yard freestyle event at the 3
2025 Division I State Swim Meet; and 4
WHEREAS, Hayden Hollingsworth is deserving of this prestigious 5
honor, a tribute to the remarkable athletic gifts and indomitable 6
spirit that she has so amply displayed as a senior member of the Upper 7
Arlington High School girls swim team. A tenacious competitor, she 8
could always be counted on to shine, and at this year’s Division I 9
State Meet, she placed first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 10
22.75, her third consecutive such crown in this event, and second in 11
the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 53.82. In addition, she helped 12
the 200-yard medley and freestyle relay teams finish first with times 13
of 1:41.72 and 1:33.98, respectively, and understandably, the 14
strength, agility, stamina, and skill that she has exhibited have 15
earned her many admirers; and 16
WHEREAS, Hayden Hollingsworth has conscientiously applied herself 17
to the quest for excellence as an athlete, training and practicing 18
diligently in order to ensure peak conditioning. Time and again, she 19
has risen to the occasion, maintaining her morale, composure, and good 20
sportsmanship, and she has gained the respect of even her most 21
determined rivals. Clearly, her enthusiastic involvement in swimming 22
has enabled her to learn much about dedication, self-discipline, and 23
leadership, and in the process, her exceptional prowess has made her 24
family and friends very proud; and 25
WHEREAS, Few sports embody the spirit of individual and team

accomplishment more than swimming, and athletes such as Hayden 27
Hollingsworth exemplify the qualities necessary for excellence in any 28
sport, including discipline, conditioning, and focus. Indeed, 29
throughout long hours of competition, she has consistently 30
demonstrated the talent and motivation that are the hallmarks of a 31
true champion; therefore be it 32
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 33
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Hayden 34
Hollingsworth for outstanding athletic achievement and applaud her as 35
an outstanding Ohioan; and be it further 36
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 37
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Hayden Hollingsworth. 38
