The resolution honors Kate Simmons, a senior at Findlay High School, for winning the 2025 Girls State Wrestling Championship in the 170-pound weight class. Honoring Kate Simmons as a 2025 State Wrestling Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Kate Simmons on winning the 2025 2
Girls Wrestling State Championship in the 170-pound weight class; and 3
WHEREAS, A senior at Findlay High School, Kate Simmons has 4
combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good 5
sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young 6
athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward 7
attaining ultimate proficiency in wrestling, and as a result, she 8
pinned her challenger from Loveland High School to secure the State 9
Championship title in the 170-pound weight class and finished this 10
season with a 37-7 record; and 11
WHEREAS, Kate Simmons’ accomplishments and leadership, both in and 12
out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and an 13
outstanding reflection not only on her but also on her family, her 14
teammates, her coaches, her school, and her community. Her unwavering 15
commitment to excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of 16
many, and she is certainly worthy of high praise; and 17
WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role 18
in the total education of our young people, we are overjoyed to pay 19
tribute to Kate Simmons on an exemplary 2024-2025 season. Indeed, the 20
maturity and experience she has gained through her participation in 21
wrestling will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the 22
future; therefore be it 23
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 24
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Kate Simmons as 25

RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 28
