A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring Makennah Craft as a 2025 State Wrestling Champion.

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Makennah Craft on winning the 2025 2
State Wrestling Championship in the 100-pound weight class; and 3
WHEREAS, A senior at Jackson High School, Makennah Craft has 4
combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good 5
sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young 6
athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward 7
attaining ultimate proficiency in wrestling, and as a result, she 8
defeated a tough opponent from Tinora High School with a technical 9
fall score of 19-4 to win this year’s state championship in the 100- 10
pound weight class, securing her fourth consecutive state title and 11
capping a 44-0 undefeated season; and 12
WHEREAS, Makennah Craft’s accomplishments and leadership, both in 13
and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine 14
reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her 15
coaches, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to 16
excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is 17
certainly worthy of high praise; and 18
WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role 19
in the total education of our young people, we are overjoyed to pay 20
tribute to Makennah Craft on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same 21
maturity and experience she has gained through her participation in 22
wrestling will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the 23
future; therefore be it 24

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 25

Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Makennah Craft 26
as a 2025 State Wrestling Champion and extend best wishes for 27
continued success; and be it further 28
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 29
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Makennah Craft. 30
