SR 65: Honoring Alex Taylor as a 2025 Division I State Wrestling Champion.
The senate is honoring Alex Taylor, a student at Mount Vernon High School, for winning the 2025 Division I State Wrestling Championship in the heavyweight class. Alex has demonstrated exceptional talent, competitive spirit, and good sportsmanship throughout his wrestling career. He has worked diligently to attain ultimate proficiency in wrestling and has achieved the first state title in the boys program history. The senate recognizes Alex's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of competition, and commends him for his exemplary season. The senate also wishes Alex continued success and extends its best wishes for his future endeavors.

A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring Alex Taylor as a 2025 Division I State Wrestling Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Alex Taylor on winning the 2025 2
Division I State Wrestling Championship in the heavyweight class; and 3
WHEREAS, A student at Mount Vernon High School, Alex Taylor has 4
combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good 5
sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional young 6
athlete. With admirable dedication, he has worked diligently toward 7
attaining ultimate proficiency in wrestling, and as a result, he 8
defeated a tough opponent from Perry High School by the score of 10-5 9
to win this year’s Division I State Championship in the heavyweight 10
class, the first state title in the boys program history; and 11
WHEREAS, Alex Taylor’s accomplishments and leadership, both in and 12
out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine 13
reflection not only on him but also on his family, his teammates, his 14
coaches, his school, and his community. His unwavering commitment to 15
excellence has earned him the respect and esteem of many, and he is 16
certainly worthy of high praise; and 17
WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role 18
in the total education of our young people, we are overjoyed to pay 19
tribute to Alex Taylor on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same 20
maturity and experience he has gained through his participation in 21
wrestling will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the 22
future; therefore be it 23
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 24
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Alex Taylor as 25
