Honoring Ashlynn Brokaw as a 2025 State Wrestling Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Ashlynn Brokaw on winning the 2025 2
State Wrestling Championship in the 105-pound weight class; and 3
WHEREAS, A sophomore at Mount Vernon High School, Ashlynn Brokaw 4
has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of 5
good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young 6
athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward 7
attaining ultimate proficiency in wrestling, and as a result, she 8
defeated a tough opponent from Urbana High School by the score of 7-6 9
to win this year’s state championship in the 105-pound weight class, 10
the first state title in program history, and finished the season with 11
a 47-4 record; and 12
WHEREAS, Ashlynn Brokaw’s accomplishments and leadership, both in 13
and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine 14
reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her 15
coaches, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to 16
excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is 17
certainly worthy of high praise; and 18
WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role 19
in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased 20
to pay tribute to Ashlynn Brokaw on an exemplary season. Indeed, the 21
same maturity and experience she has gained through her participation 22
in wrestling will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the 23
future; therefore be it 24
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 25

Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Ashlynn Brokaw 26
as a 2025 State Wrestling Champion and extend best wishes for 27
continued success; and be it further 28
