Honoring the Monroe Central High School boys basketball team as the 2025 Division VI State Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Monroe Central High School 2
boys basketball team on winning the 2025 Division VI State 3
Championship; and 4
WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the 5
Monroe Central High School boys basketball team have combined talent 6
and spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish 7
themselves as truly exceptional competitors. With admirable 8
dedication, the Seminoles have worked diligently toward attaining 9
ultimate proficiency in basketball, and as a result, they defeated a 10
tough Marion Local team to win this year’s Division VI State 11
Championship, their first such crown in program history, and finished 12
the season with an impressive 26-3 record; and 13
WHEREAS, The Seminoles’ achievements and leadership are a 14
justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on the 15
players, their families, their school, their community, and their 16
coach, Mason Lang. In leading his team to victory, Coach Lang has not 17
only helped the athletes to develop their talents to the fullest but 18
also instilled in them a valuable sense of determination, 19
perseverance, and camaraderie; and 20
WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role 21
in the total education of our young people, we are overjoyed to pay 22
tribute to these exemplary athletes and their outstanding coach for a 23
job well done. The maturity and experience the team members have 24

gained through their participation in sports will greatly aid them in 25
meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it 26
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General 27
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Monroe 28
Central High School boys basketball team on its tremendous season and 29
salute the members and coach as some of Ohio’s finest citizens; and be 30
it further 31
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 32
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Monroe Central High 33
School boys basketball team. 34
