The bill aims to improve the evacuation and sheltering needs of older adults and persons with disabilities living in long-term care facilities during natural, technological, or manmade disasters and emergencies. It requires the Secretary of the California Department of Aging to develop a working group that makes recommendations on evacuation and sheltering needs. The recommendations must be submitted to the state by July 1, 2027, and the requirement to develop the working group will be repealed on January 1, 2030.
