This bill amends the labor code to include a new presumptive cause of heart trouble for certain peace officers. A peace officer is defined as a person employed by the state department of state hospitals. This presumptive cause applies to a peace officer who develops or manifests heart trouble during their employment, and would provide compensation for injuries sustained in the course of their work. The bill also makes conforming and technical changes to the existing law.
