AB 12: Low-carbon fuel standard: regulations.

California · Assembly · 2025–2026 Regular Session · last verified February 3, 2026

What AB 12 does, verified February 3, 2026

This bill would void certain amendments to the low-carbon fuel standard regulations adopted by the state board. The California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 established the state air resources board as the agency responsible for monitoring and regulating greenhouse gas emissions. The board must adopt rules to achieve the maximum technologically feasible and cost-effective reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, with a goal of reducing statewide emissions by at least 40% by 2030.
