This bill aims to improve data protection and privacy in California by adding new requirements for state and local government agencies. The state and local government agencies are prohibited from collecting immigration-related personally identifiable information unless explicitly required by law. Additionally, they are not allowed to share this information with federal immigration enforcement agencies without a judicial warrant or court order.
