AB 1343: Local alternative transportation improvement program: Feather River crossing.
The bill aims to address transportation problems in the Yuba City area, which was originally supposed to be served by planned state facilities. The affected local agencies, along with the transportation planning agency, will develop a local alternative transportation improvement program to address local transportation needs. The California Transportation Commission will have the final authority to approve the program, and it must be completed by July 1, 2030. All proceeds from the sale of excess properties acquired for the canceled state facilities will be allocated to the approved program, excluding any reimbursements due to the federal government and costs incurred in the sale. These funds will be exempt from the fair share distribution formulas that typically apply to state transportation funds.
