AB 1415: California Health Care Quality and Affordability Act.
The bill aims to update the definitions of key terms in the healthcare quality and affordability act. A provider is defined to mean entities delivering or furnishing healthcare services. The bill also includes additional definitions, such as a hedge fund, which is a pool of funds managed for a return on investment. Management services organizations will be required to submit data and information to carry out the functions of the office of health care affordability. Noticing entities, which include entities that own or control healthcare entities or management services organizations, will be required to provide written notice of agreements or transactions involving healthcare entities or management services organizations.
